Planned program

Day 1: Zakopane

We will depart from Szeged, from the Pláza car park, in the early morning of 23 April 2027 (Friday). Travelling through Slovakia and the Slovak Tatras, we will arrive in Zakopane, in southern Poland, often referred to as the “capital of the Polish Tatras”. Nestled among picturesque mountains, this resort town brings together traditional Gorals culture and modern tourism. Its distinctive wooden houses, charming market, delicious Gorals cheeses and breathtaking mountain panoramas make it a truly special destination. It is an ideal choice for anyone seeking a mountain getaway filled with unforgettable experiences. Our guests will have the opportunity to take the funicular railway up to Gubałówka, located at an altitude of 1,123 metres. After some free time, we will continue to Kraków, where we will check into our accommodation and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Auschwitz

After breakfast, we will visit Auschwitz, the largest and one of the most brutal concentration and extermination camp complexes established by Nazi Germany, where more than one million innocent people were murdered with industrial-scale cruelty. The camp has become a symbol of terror, inhumanity and genocide, serving as an eternal reminder to the world of the devastating power of hatred. At the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, the surviving barracks, railway ramp, ruins of the crematoria and exhibitions of personal belongings reveal the horrifying reality of the Nazi genocide with devastating clarity. After visiting the concentration camp, we will return to Kraków and spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the city. Dinner will be served at the hotel in the evening.

Day 3: Kraków’s Historic City Centre

After breakfast, we will set off together to explore Kraków’s historic city centre, where history and vibrant city life come together. In the shadow of the Royal Castle, romantic cobblestone streets, charming cafés and magnificent churches await us. Kraków offers both a journey back in time and the excitement of a modern city, with new treasures to discover around every corner. During the morning, we will visit Wawel Hill, the cathedral, the Royal Palace and Rynek Główny, Kraków’s Main Market Square. Around midday, there will be an opportunity to sample traditional Polish cuisine, including żurek (sour rye soup) and pierogi (Polish dumplings). We will begin our journey home in the early afternoon, with arrival in Szeged expected late in the evening.
