Day 1: Crișul Repede River
We will depart from Szeged in the morning of 22 May 2027 (Saturday). During the morning, we will arrive in the village of Vadu Crișului, near the King’s Pass (Piatra Craiului Pass). Our first stop will be Zichy Cave, located in the central section of the Crișul Repede Gorge. A stream flows through the cave and plunges dramatically into the depths at its exit, forming a spectacular waterfall. Around midday, we will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch near the bridge in Vadu Crișului, with local specialities such as mici (grilled minced-meat rolls), roasted meats and ciorbă (traditional Romanian soup). In the early afternoon, our rafting adventure on the Crișul Repede River will begin. Including time to get changed, the activity will last approximately 2.5–3 hours. This section of the river is ideal for those who enjoy adventure without overly extreme challenges. The route is generally safe and manageable. As the river has a relatively gentle gradient, the current is not particularly fast, although in some places we will need to navigate around rocks and cliffs. With the assistance of our experienced guides, the route is suitable for participants of varying experience levels. After rafting, we will board our coach and begin the journey home in the late afternoon. Arrival in Szeged is expected in the evening.
