Day 1: Salonta and Oradea
On December 12, 2026 (Saturday), we depart from Szeged in the morning from the car park at Szeged Plaza. We set off on our one-day excursion by comfortable coach to explore one of the most beautiful areas of the Partium region. Our first stop is Salonta, where we visit the Csonkatorony (Truncated Tower) and learn about the life and work of the famous Hungarian poet János Arany. We discover his personal belongings and memorabilia, gaining a glimpse into his life and literary legacy. After this cultural experience, we continue to Oradea. Upon arrival, we spend several hours at two of the city’s most popular shopping destinations: Jumbo, a family-friendly shopping experience offering something for every age group, including toys, decorations, gifts and Christmas specialities, and Era Shopping Park, featuring a wide range of shops, discounts, restaurants and pleasant areas for a leisurely stroll. The programme offers an ideal opportunity to buy Christmas presents or simply enjoy a relaxing shopping trip. As evening falls, we visit Oradea’s enchanting Advent market, where festive lights, the aroma of mulled wine and cheerful music create a magical atmosphere. We browse the stalls of local craftspeople, sample delicious winter treats and soak up the true spirit of Christmas in the heart of Oradea. We depart for home in the late afternoon, with arrival in Szeged expected in the evening.
